We wish a very Happy Mother's Day to everyone in Bruins Nation. Let's celebrate it here with some UCLA baseball. Thanks to another epic performance from Trevor Bauer, UCLA (26-16, 13-7) collected its fourth consecutive victory last night in Eugene. Bruin pitching staff is on a roll as they have given up just 6 runs in our last 5 games.
Bruins will try to go for a rare road sweep against Oregon (23-22, 5-12) with Adam Plutko. The superb but hard luck freshman has not gotten a lot of run support the entire season but he will have a chance to a second consecutive win. Last week Plutko allowed just two runs in 6.1 innings against Oregon State, but as Ryan noted in his Oregon series preview he has been so good this season that it actually bumped his ERA up to 1.79. With a .208 batting average against and just nine extra base hits given up, Plutko has been nothing short of sensational.
Game time at PK Park is 12 pm. If you're looking to follow along, GameTracker will have it and you can get all the in-game updates, along with links and other information, especially weather and schedule updates, on Ryan's UCLA baseball twitter. You can also get the play by play online. This is a special Mother's Day open thread so if you're following along, share your updates, thoughts and whatever else.
