BN Gameday: Arizona at UCLA Open Game Thread

BN gamethread tracking live action between Arizona and UCLA at the Rose Bowl.

Let's GO! BRUINS!
Let's GO! BRUINS!

This is a huge game folks. We have not beaten Arizona since Pat Cowan subbed in for Ben Olson and beat Arizona, 27-7. The last time we met, in-game extracurricular activities spelled the beginning of the end of the Neuheisel era. In addition, both teams are coming off of huge wins and bowl-eligible UCLA is once again ranked nationally, at #25. There will be many things to look out for in this game.

Redshirt senior Johnathan Franklin, also known as Jetski, The Mayor or Hungry Man, needs only 21 yards to surpass Gaston Green's UCLA career rushing yards (set in 1987) record of 3,731 and should be honored accordingly if the Athletic Department was run by someone competent like our very own, Lentron.

The Bruins will be wearing the "swaggy" (as Tevin McDonald called them) LA Nights alternate jerseys at the Rose Bowl.

Both the Bruins and the Wildcats, and their new head coaches (Mora and RichRod) are looking to establish their teams as the premiere Pac-12 South contender.

Arizona QB, Matt Scott is coming off of a concussion, that his head coach has dismissed, despite the symptoms. In contrast, Mora has supported Patrick Larimore's decision to medically retire and has supported Greg Capella while he battles concussion related symptoms.

Y receiver (tight end) Joe Fauria has caught a pass in 16 straight games.

Arizona CB Shaquille Richardson was a Bruin for a few days before he found a purse at a UCLA dining hall that he really liked.

Lot H parking opens at 1:00 pm. Kickoff is at 7:37 pm PST and will be televised on the Pac-12 Network. The weather forecast calls for a high of 81 degrees with a few clouds.

Ted Robinson and former Arizona Wildcat OL Glenn Parker will be in the booth. Former Bruin/NFL player Ryan Nece will be providing updates from the sidelines. If you are in the LA area, tune in to 570 AM to listen to the game on the Bruin IMG Radio Network (Chris Roberts, Wayne Cook and Matt Stevens). Outside of LA, you can tune in to XM Ch. 196 and SIRIUS Ch. 139.

You can catch up on all of our Arizona notes right here. If you are looking to track the game online you can also keep your tabs open to the gametracker on the official website and on the WWL website.

As gbruin mentioned in the very first week we do not tolerate any personal attacks on our players. Don't do it. Say what you want about the play, but support the players. Also, want to remind folks that no links to illegal streams should be posted in the comment thread. Sorry, that's just a no no per SBN protocol.

After a huge victory in Tempe, during which we saw Brett Hundley and Ka'imi Fairbairn step up in crunch time, let's hope that we can carry on the momentum and look good in the new alternate jerseys.

LA Nights. Bruin Victory.

Go Bruins. Fire away!
