Today at 2:15 pacific time UCLA plays Texas on ESPN. As I mentioned, seemingly according to the ADs of both school the only reason the two basketball coaches are here today is because their schools are football schools. If either program truly cared about basketball, the coaches would be fired before they played the game today in the Houston Texans' stadium in the MD Anderson Proton Therapy Showcase.

This game seems easy on paper. Texas is athletic but can't shoot. UCLA should play zone. Not according to Howland, who will be playing man to man. But really the winner of this game may come down to who wants it more. Will the Bruins play with passion or give up like they did last year against Texas?

The official preview is here. Everyone but walk on Nick Kazemi is healthy but the way this team is going Nick could be playing before the year is over. Texas has a number of tidbits here. This is a doubleheader with the women's team and I really wish they could flip which game is televised as the #17 UCLA women take on the #12 Texas ladies.

Go Bruins.
