UCLA vs. Maryland Sunday Baseball Open Thread: Series Up For Grabs

We've seen two UCLA teams so far. There was the all starting pitching, no bullpen or offense team of Friday night and the absent starting pitching, effective offense and lockdown bullpen of yesterday afternoon. Those two teams turned in a loss and a win in the Bruins' first two games of the season, which sets up today's rubber match between UCLA and Maryland in the season opening series between the two.

The Bruins have been good on Sundays the past two seasons and this year on Sunday they will turn to Zack Weiss. The sophomore worked on Tuesday nights and out of the bullpen on the weekends last season and did so effectively. He compiled a 5-3 record and 2.86 ERA, earning himself a spot in this year's weekend rotation, where he will carry the pressure of having the series result resting on his shoulders. The same if true of Brett Harman, who will be on the mound for the Terrapins in his first start since missing last year with Tommy John surgery.

If you're looking to follow along on this Sunday morning turning afternoon, John Ramey and Tim Wilhelm will have the call online. GameTracker will be going and if you want updates all game as well as notes and observations, you can check out my UCLA baseball twitter. This is your open thread for today's rubber game so share your updates and anything else here.
