The weather forecast is calling for rain tomorrow, a 90% chance of it to be specific, but it doesn't look like UCLA and Washington St. are going to play a doubleheader today because...well, I don't know why. Point is, the Bruins are likely playing just one today and it is a big one as they look to secure the series win with the Cougars in town. They pasted Wazzu last night to the tune of 12-3 and will be hoping for that same offense to show up today.

Nick Vander Tuig will get the nod for the Bruins and he'll be hoping to eat up some innings, just like he did last week in an eight-inning start. Most importantly, Vander Tuig was around the plate last weekend, which he'll have to be again today. Opposite Vander Tuig will be Joe Pistorese, a left-handed freshman who has been effective, but has not gone deep into games so the Bruins can expect a heavy dose of the Cougar bullpeb.

If you aren't going to the Jack tonight then tune into John Ramey and Tim Wilhelm, who will have the call online. You can also get all the game updates, notes, observations and all the other goodies from my UCLA baseball twitter. This is your Wazzu series opener open thread so share updates as well as your thoughts and reactions here.
