Everything went swimmingly for UCLA yesterday. In game one of their doubleheader against Purdue they outplayed the Boilermakers, getting a gem from Adam Plutko and some quality hitting against a good pitcher to pick up a 5-1 win. In game two, the Boilermakers were probably "better", but they left men on left and right, while the Bruins took advantage of the few opportunities they had before the bullpen locked things down for the 3-2 victory.

Now it's time for game three and a chance to sweep. Zack Weiss will be on the mound for UCLA and facing Purdue's freshman Connor Pudkul. Experience goes UCLA's way, but Weiss hasn't been his sharpest of late and against a Boilermaker team desperate for a win, he'll have to be good.

There's an alumni picnic and lots of other great things going on at JRS today, but if you are not out at the ballpark then listen in with John Ramey and Tim Wilhelm, who will have the call online. You can also get all the game updates, notes, observations and all the other goodies from my UCLA baseball twitter. This is your open thread as the Bruins go for the sweep so share updates as well as your thoughts and reactions here.
