Win or your season is over. That is the reality for UCLA and Florida St., who are set for an elimination game at the College World Series. One will move on to play Arizona and the other will go home.
The Bruins and Seminoles are the two highest ranked teams left at the College World Series, checking in as the number two and three national seeds. The forecast is calling for a stiff wind blowing in all game, which will benefit UCLA, who don't hit nearly as many home runs as Florida St. and still put up big offensive numbers.
Zack Weiss will be on the mound for UCLA making his first appearance since the Regionals. He struggled in his last two starts in those Regionals and against USC in the season finale, but he did excel in his only postseason start last year. Opposite Weiss will be Scott Sitz, who went 3-3 with a 3.99 ERA this season. The one advantage that Sitz does have is that he pitched in Omaha two years ago so it's not his first time on the big stage.
The game gets underway at 5 pm PT and will be televised on ESPN. You can also listen to it online if you want to hear our very own John Ramey so tune in or listen in and see if the Bruins have stave off elimination. This is your open thread so share your thoughts and reactions right here.
