Mora Introduces Count On Me Foundation with Happy Hour in Manhattan Beach Tonight

Stephen Dunn

I saw this blurb online just now and this seemed a worthy thing to hit on. Coach Mora and his wife are hosting a Happy Hour in Manhattan Beach this evening (Thursday) to introduce his charitable foundation to the Southland. Here is a direct link to the Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation website.

From our friend Chris Foster in the LAT:

UCLA Coach Jim Mora's foundation, "Count On Me," will hold a happy hour meet and greet Thursday night in Manhattan Beach.

The event at the 900 Manhattan Club runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mora and Shannon Mora, his wife, will introduce the foundation, which supports children in need.

The foundation will also hold a golf tournament on May 20 at the Riviera Country Club.

To RSVP for the happy hour event contact Michele Heffron at (206) 450-9973 or at michele.h@comff.org.

Even though this is short notice for us (and why am I not surprised I have heard absolutely nothing about this from U.C.L.A. Athletics?) this sounds like a special event and an outstanding cause. So if you are in the area, consider checking this out. Besides, Happy Hour in college to me meant dinner, so you can't go wrong there.

It's great to see Coach Mora out in front of an organization created to help others. You can tell a Bruin in 10-15 seconds.
