UCLA 35, Southern Cal 14 - Bruins Burn Down Troy!!!

Coach Ogre let the Bruins in and locked the gates. And then the Bruins beat his team up and down the field.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

First win in the Coliseum since 1997.

First back to back win over the trogans since 1998.

How does that feel, Bruins?!

It wasn't a perfect game by U.C.L.A., but it was solid for 60 minutes.  You can see the stats here.  The Bruins played great defense, keeping Southern Cal's big play receivers in check.  The Bruins ran a generally smart and efficient offense mixing a variety of swings and short routes and runs to offset the Southern Cal defensive line.  The Bruins special teams created great field position for us and poor field position for them.  After an emotionally shaky start, that's all the Bruins needed to bring home a victory over an inspired and gutty little trogan team.

Ring that Victory Bell, Bruins!

Brett Hundley looked great tonight, getting the ball out quickly and decisively, and being effective with his decisions to run.  Cassius Marsh had his most dominant game of the season, and Anthony Barr reminded the nation why he's the best OLB in the country.  Add a great effort by a decimated O line, tough running by Paul Perkins and Jordon James, clutch play by the receivers, and an all around great defensive effort.  It's the best team game we've seen from the Bruins this year (and there was still room for more), and that's why the game wan't that close.

Hundley said it best in the post game interview, "UCLA runs L.A.!  Everybody understand that!  Let's go!!"

Next year makes three.  But in the meantime, enjoy this one!!!

GO BRUINS!!!!
