How did you find Bruins Nation?

Stephen Dunn

Bruins Nation is getting old. Really old, actually. But all that means is that this community has been around for a while and grown tighter.

In the 7 Games To Go comments, Fox brought up an interesting question: How did you find BN? He shared his experience.

I don’t know how I found it. I was looking for a place to find a couple of kindred spirits to commiserate with about CTS (and he’s so long gone I should spell it out – Coach Toledo’s Successor. I couldn’t bring myself to type that guy’s name any more.) Anyway, I got to Dump (You Know Who), and somehow got here. I promptly did something that caused Mr. Negativity (cough, cough (Nestor) cough) to tell me to quit whining or something. After un-bunching my panties, I realized that this is a place to dish it out, but dish it out factually, and to be prepared to defend a position factually, and to get past things rather than get huffy.

This is a family to those who are family, and all Bruins are family. Some members of the family have demanded their inheritance and gone off to a foreign land and wasted their inheritance on wild living and non-fact-based arguments, but when we see them coming home we run to them and embrace them. We celebrate, because our brother who was dead is alive again. (Unless he just refuses to see the light, in which case he becomes like Fredo, to thoroughly mix my figures of speech.)

I found BN years and years ago when I was looking for information on a Pauley Pavilion renovation. This was back in the BN 1.0 days and I quickly contributed, writing a post with an all caps headline. Nestor quickly told me to stop being a child. He probably didn't know that I basically was a child at the time, all of 16 years old.

Here we stand, many years later, and Pauley Pavilion got its much-needed renovation, only a bad one. Oh well. At least it led me here. How did you find BN?

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.
