Vanessa Zamarripa is Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week for the 4th time - Thanks to 805Bruin

Once again, congratulations to Vanessa Zamarripa. She was named Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week for the fourth time (in six weeks!) this season and for the ninth time in her career. She ties former Bruin Gymnast Kristen Maloney with her fourth Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week award for the most in a season (and at the rate she's going, might just blow right by her.)

Zamarripa is now ranked first in the country in the all-around, with an average score of 39.613 and first on the floor.

Danusia Francis was nominated for special performance of the week.

Looking ahead to Oregon State
The Bruins travel to Corvallis this weekend to take on the #13 Oregon Sate Beavers. The meet will be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks at 7pm.

The Beavers have been on the road for the past month, so the home crowd may be anxious to cheer on their home team. OSU gymnast Kelsi Blalock is ranked 8th in the nation in the all-around with an average score of 39.425. Meets against Oregon State have been close historically, with the team tying in 2012 at 196.775. Last week the Beavers went to Arizona State and defeated the Sun Devils 196.300-195.450. Makayla Stambaugh won the all-around with a score of 39.425 and won the bars with a score of 9.95 and the vault with a score of 9.875. Chelsea Tang won the beam with a career best 9.875.

Injury wise, Hailey Gaspar hurt her heel during the touch for the floor against Cal, and her availability for this week is not known.

Sophina DeJesus is not expected to compete this week after suffering a concussion in practice last week.

Every week Sam Peszek interviews Coach Val for the UCLA youtube channel. This week in addition to Coach Val she interviews Olivia Courtney and Danusia Francis.

And finally, here's everyone's favorite video guy, Ralph Irvin, with his recap of the meet.
