CBS Sports Jumps on Unreasonable UCLA Expectations Bandwagon

Inane attempts by CBS analysts Greg Anthony, Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley to further the media narrative of unreasonable Bruin basketball fans

On today's "Road to the Final Four" show on CBS, analysts Greg Anthony, Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley talk to Ben Howland. Howland was classy as always, but one does have to remember that anytime he's on the air, he's doing a virtual interview for his next job. Not being snarky; that's just being smart and we wish him all the best.

I had to laugh when Kenny Smith Greg Anthony tried to say that Ben Howland's recruiting was sabotaged by people associated with UCLA. Ben responded by saying that he had the number 1 recruiting class last year. Doh!

Kenny Smith goes on to say Ben met his expectations for UCLA this year and that he has "no idea what the expectations of UCLA are."

One conference title does not make up for one losing season, missing the tournament twice and not getting out of the second round during the last five years. But, but . . . three straight Final Fours!!! Ummm, how many of you would last at your job using the argument that your mediocre to poor performance should be forgiven for your five-year old past accomplishments?

Sir Charles weighs in that because of "one-and-done," UCLA fans should never expect to have a Dynasty again.

Dynasty...Dynasty??? Who has expectations for a Dynasty? More than one NCAA Championship in almost 40 years would be nice. Just more of the lazy MSM's false narrative on UCLA basketball.
