Thursday and Friday Night Lights: BN Open CFB Thread, 49ers, and Coach

We have another bye week as our players and coaches recuperate from an emotional start and prepare for their Pac-12 opener. You can read all of our notes and see videos as UCLA prepares for it’s game at Utah here.

In these last couple of weeks we have witnessed and discussed the values that are near and dear to UCLA. The values that Coach Mora, Nebraska, and our team have demonstrated with such grace, wisdom, and care. I found a Ted Talk with Coach Wooden that I think articulates what makes us proud to be Bruins. In it Coach discusses the role of teacher and coach and the difference between winning and succeeding and so many other things. It always amazes me how sharp his mind remained throughout his life and I love listening to him pull out poems and prose effortlessly and weave them seamlessly into his discussions. I hope you will enjoy it.

I also recommend that people take a moment to vote for Coach Mora for Coach of the Year as he has once again showed us what the word Coach means. You can vote here each day.
