CFB Week 6 Open Thread: Stanford vs. Notre Dame, Alabama vs. Mississippi, Texas A&M vs. Miss State and LSU vs. Auburn.

It's a big CFB day right from the openinig bell at 9AM. There are six games between TOP 25 teams, and then you can finish the night with Utah vs. UCLA.

Harry How

It's been a while since the Bruins have had a Saturday game. Utah visits the Rose Bowl tonight at 7:30 PT on ESPN. The game of the year was supposed to be next week at the Rose Bowl 12:30 vs. Oregon on Fox, but the Ducks stumbled at home Thursday, losing 31-24 to Arizona. There goes Gameday!

Speaking of ESPN's College Gameday, it hits Oxford, Mississippi as #3 Alabama plays #11 Ole Miss (the game is actually on CBS at 12:30 PT).

Now that we're in October, after weeks of slim pickings, we've actually got six games this week that have two Top 25 teams facing off against each other. The morning starts off, as usual, with SEC action as #6 Texas A&M visits #12 Mississippi State at 9AM PT on ESPN. A&M's Hill and MSU's Prescott are both top quarterbacks with Heisman aspirations. A&M squeaked by Arkansas in overtime last week while the Bulldogs have a road win at LSU on their resume.  Texas A&M is favored by 2.5.  Does ESPN realize this is a 12 Noon ET game? That's what I'm talking about.

The mid-shift is pretty amazing. In the SEC, there's #3 Alabama (- 7) at #11 Mississippi at 12:30 PT on CBS, #14 Stanford (-2.5)  at #9 Notre Dame at 12:30 PT on NBC and #4 Oklahoma (-3.5) at #25 TCU, also at 12:30PT, on Fox.

Stanford is struggling to put the ball in the end zone, but their defense is one of the best. Notre Dame's quarterback Everett Golson is off to a great start, but the Irish haven't really been challenged yet -- they beat Rice, Michigan, Purdue and Syracuse. A Stanford win helps our SOS and would jump us over Notre Dame in the rankings.  Check out Athlon Sports' PAC-12 preview.

Before you tune into Bruins, we've got #15 LSU at #5 Auburn (-7.5) at 4 PT on ESPN and #19 Nebraska at #10 Michigan State on ABC 5PM PT.

Here are the previews and viewing guides from ESPN, Sports Illustrated and SB Nation and the full Saturday schedule courtesy of the mother ship.
