UCLA's bye week did not stop the coaches from recruiting, nor are recruits taking time off from making their future collegiate decisions. The latest future Bruin made his commitment late Sunday night, when Orange Coast College offensive lineman Zach Bateman announced his decision to come to UCLA.
#UCLA has landed a commitment from junior college offensive lineman Zach Bateman tonight.

Zach is a 3-star (JC) prospect at offensive tackle, measuring in with a definite OT's build at 6'7, 320. He passed up offers from ASU, Ohio State, Oklahoma State and Wisconsin among others to come to Westwood. As is the case with most players being heavily recruited out of the JC ranks, academics kept the 2012 all-CIF lineman from qualifying out of high school. But it seems that he has turned around his classroom performance, per an earlier interview with Scout.com's JC site, he will complete his AA next month which will allow him to enroll at UCLA for the upcoming Winter Quarter and be able to participate in Spring Ball.
Hudl.com has some highlight videos of Zach posted, including this one focusing on some of his moves (look for #69).
