The new polls are out. After a strong defensive performance secured a win over the higher ranked Arizona Wildcats, the Bruins moved up in all polls. U.C.L.A. moved up to 18 in the AP and Coaches Polls, and 15 in the Massey poll.
I think our position is reasonably fair. We climbed a decent amount from 25/25/22 last week, but our team just hasn't been able to display enough consistency on both sides of the ball to justify a higher ranking at this time.
Mississippi State, Florida State, Alabama, and Auburn still share the top 4 in the 3 polls. Oregon remains the highest ranked Pac-12 team at #5 in the AP and Coaches Polls and #6 in Massey. Arizona State sits just outside the top 10, while Utah, Arizona, and Southern Cal are currently slotted in the upper 20's.
The College Football Playoff Poll debuted last week, and the updated poll will be released on Tuesday evening. The Bruins were #22 in the initial CFB poll.
