Washington St. shut down the UCLA offense on Friday night to take Game 1 of their three-game Pac-12 set, but the Bruins bounced back yesterday with four early runs and held on to win 4-2. Now the series is tied at a game apiece, setting the stage for a rubber match today in Westwood.
The Bruins aren't just aiming for a series win, but also to maintain their spot atop the Pac-12. They're currently in a four-way tie with Oregon St., Oregon and Washington so the pressure is on to keep pace.
Cody Poteet will get the nod for UCLA and he brings a 2-1 record and 2.15 ERA into the contest. He'll be opposed by Tanner Chleborad, who is 1-2 with a 3.76 ERA.
If you're not out at Jackie Robinson Stadium, listen in live on the digital radio with John Ramey and Tim Wilhelm calling the game. As is always the case, you can also follow along on Gametracker. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. PST.
This is your Sunday afternoon baseball game thread, so fire away with your comments, observations, and notes as our Bruins look to stay in first place.
