UCLA Offensive Lineman Xavier Su'a-Filo was selected by the Houston Texans as the first pick of the Second Round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Su'a-Filo will provide much needed protection for whomever ends up at quarterback for the Texans.
While at UCLA, he started in all 40 games that he played in and was a Second-team All-American pick and first-team All-Pac-12 selection after starting all 13 games in 2013.
While he had another year of eligibility, he opted to forego his senior season to enter this year's draft, mostly because of the fact that he is two years older than your typical junior. Xavier took two seasons off from UCLA to complete his Mormon mission in Florida and South Alabama.
He is known for being quick out of his stance and an effective pass blocker. He was a rated 3rd highest among offensive lineman at the NFL Combine on the 20 yard shuttle.
While we will certainly miss having him pass blocking this season for Brett Hundley, we wish him the best as he starts his NFL career! Go Bruins!
