Make way... for Prince Ali...
Say hey... it's Prince Ali... (ok the Aladdin references end there.)
4 Star guard recruit Prince Ali has committed to UCLA:
I'm excited to announce that I've committed to UCLA! Proud to be a Bruin! Thanks to my family, coaches and friends for all the support!

Ali was originally committed to UConn but reopened his recruitment back in May, which was odd since Kevin Ollie had reaffirmed his commitment to UConn at that time. He picked UCLA over Louisville and Georgia Tech. Why did he pick UCLA? Courtesy of scout:
"He made me a priority," Ali said. "That stands out when a school makes you priority. Of all the shooting guards in the country, I was his number one priority."
"Coach Alford is a great person and he’s always been honest with me and he followed me all of July," he added. "That’s when I knew I was priority when he followed me around all of July."
You can check out his junior year mix tape here:
This commitment now gives UCLA two very very very good guard commits for the backcourt in 2015, both ranked in the top 50 with Aaron Holiday.
Ali doesn't sound like a diamond in the rough (ok I could not resist another Aladdin reference) as he is considered extremely athletic, he's a good shooter and he has improved his ball skills over the past year.
A few other thoughts:
Prince Ali gives UCLA a tremendous scorer who can score on all three levels. His athleticism & defensive ability are top notch, as well.

Aaron Holiday and Prince Ali. #UCLA is going to have one of the most athletic, tough minded and best defensive backcourts in the country.

Welcome to UCLA, young Prince.
Ali.
(hopefully he won't take on 100 bad guys with swords.) (The students will have fun with this for a few years.)
