ABCNews.com has an AP story on Texas QB David Ash talking about the injuries he has suffered during his time with the Longhorns.
Last year, Ash suffered a concussion against BYU in the second game of the season. That hit pretty much ended the season for Ash. He tried to play Kansas State, but ended up on the sidelines after the first half.
The article goes on to quote Ash as saying:
I'm so thankful I get to do this. Nothing's guaranteed and I for sure learned that. I feel so blessed that I get another opportunity to play this game....A lot of people told me you need to give it up, you need to quit. Honestly, I never really thought about it because in my mind I always was going to play again.
The story concludes by saying that Ash says he will be a smarter runner this season and that he isn't afraid of taking a big hit. To that Ash says:
Bring it on!
On September 13th, we fully expect our UCLA Defense to do just that.
