The Bruins just got their 3rd commit for the 2017 class. ATH/DB Rhedi Short from Cathedral High School in Los Angeles just got an offer from U.C.L.A., and it didn't take him long to jump at it.
Beyond blessed to say I've received my first offer and committed to UCLA #4'sUP pic.twitter.com/cwCm94aoVE

Short, well, is not. He's 6-1 as a junior which is already good size for a defensive back, and you can see on the video below he is a big hitter at strong safety. The video says that he has 22 tackles, 3 picks, and 11 passes broken up already this season.
Here are his early junior season highlights from hudl.
The kid really brings the hammer in the secondary.
It's a long way until 2017, but the Bruins can always use a good crop of defensive backs to help defend against the high powered spread offenses in the Pac-12. And though I would normally caution a young man about committing at the first opportunity at the first opportunity that comes along (speaking mostly about girls here, Rhedi) I think that in this particular case, he made a very wise decision.
Awesome name, too!
Welcome to Westwood, Rhedi!
BOOM!
GO BRUINS!
