The results from week 8 are in, and we have a another first-time winner in Bruins Nation Pac-12 Pick 'Em. But before I announce the name of this week's champion, I have a special tribute for him:
Without further ado, the week 8 winner of Bruins Nation Pac-12 Pick 'Em is... BruinBandDad!
BruinBandDad earned 15 points last week to top five other contestants with 14 points. The five runners-up are Gobruins2015, BornBruin, Pezz, ucla805, and Matt. Congratulations to all, but especially to BruinBandDad for capturing his first weekly award.
The results from week 8 have created substantial changes to the leaderboard. Here's what it looks like heading into week 9 of the competition:
|Rank||Pick Set Name||Total||Dropped||W-L|
Silicon Valley Bob has pulled even with IE Angel for the top spot, leaving a relatively large 6 point gap between the top two and third place Insomnia333. 4thGenBruin is also 4thPlaceBruin at the moment--7 points behind the co-leaders. GK4ucla rounds out the top-5 and is 8 points back, while four other competitors are tied for sixth and are trailing by 9 points.
Since we are nearing the end of the competition, I feel obliged to remind everyone once again that after the final week of Pac-12 Pick 'Em, each contestant's lowest weekly score will be dropped, which is certain to result in a fair amount of movement in the overall standings.

I usually end the Pac-12 Pick 'Em update with a reminder of the deadline for the week's first game. However, Yahoo's College Football Pick'em is very late in posting the schedule for the week. It appears that the first game will start at 9:00 AM PST on Saturday, November 21st, but be sure to check for yourself later in the week so that you don't miss the deadline.
As always, good luck and Go BRUINS!
