Super Bowl XLIX Open Thread

BN's open thread tracking Super Bowl XLIX between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

Stew Milne-USA TODAY Sports

After several months of watching the sport at all different levels of play, the end of this football season is upon us. Cheater Bowl, um, I mean Super Bowl XLIX is here. In just over 30 minutes, the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks will kick off, pitting the two best teams in the league and the two most notoriously ethically-marginal franchises in the league:

The 'Deflategate' Patriots have proved once again that the great moments of cheating in modern american society often have their start at Southern Cal, and the PED-enhanced Seahawks who made the Super Bowl despite having their permitted practices reduced due to previous violations. And I am sure that Pete Carroll scrupulously followed the accepted concussion protocol after his QB took this hit early in the 2nd quarter of the NFC Championship game.

I am sure that the fact that Wilson's play during the next 2 quarters was among the worst big game performances ever by an NFL quarterback was just a coincidence. Right?

There will be two Bruins on the field tonight, both playing for the Patriots: Akeem Ayers and Matthew Slater. Derrick Coleman is on the Seahawks roster, but was placed on season-ending IR in October due to a broken foot.

This your open thread for the Super Bowl. SB Nation's coverage of the game is here, while Grantland's recent profile of Matthew Slater is worth a few minutes of pregame reading.
