BOOM! and BOOM!

No, it's not the 4th of July, and no, it's not Christmas either. It's just Spring Break, but it's booming like fireworks and raining presents like it's the holiday season and the Bruins have been very very good.

The U.C.L.A. Bruins picked up their second major recruit today at the Ground Zero 7 on 7 Football Camp with a huge commitment from Lokeni Toailoa, a 4* Inside LB from Carter HS in Rialto CA.

Toilola recently named a top 7 of U.C.L.A., Southern Cal, Washington, Utah, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma, and he had offers from 21 D-1 schools so far.

Never mind that former DC and LB recruiting guru Jeff Ulbrich left U.C.L.A. for a position job in the pros. The Bruins continue to build Linebacker U in Westwood. Rivals credits Demetrice Martin and new LB coach Scott White as his lead recruiters. From what we're hearing, the Bruins aren't losing a thing with White as a recruiter, as the Bruins also landed a pledge from 4* ILB , Krys Barnes from Bakersfield, just last week. Clearly White and U.C.L.A. can bring in the talent.

Toailoa is listed at 6-0 and #213, and Scout ranks him as the top ILB in California and #2 in the country. You can see Lokeni's profile on RivalsScout, and 247Sports.

Check out Lokeni's junior year highlights.

Toailoa shows a great eye for the reading the play and taking good angles in pursuit, and he has great closing speed to finish the play. He also has great instincts for rushing the passer, which is something that the Bruin defense hasn't featured from its ILB spot recently.  It's easy to see the playmaking ability that has made him one of the top recruits in the country and why he looks like  a worthy heir to the Bruins' recent outstanding linebacker tradition.

It's a long way to National Signing Day 2016, and U.C.L.A. has had some early success with commits which unfortunately didn't make it to the finishing line, so it will be key for the staff not just to get the commitment like they have today, but to keep it until the LOI is signed and delivered.  And then there is the whole coaching and development part.

Looks like they are in a good place to start.

Today was a great first step.

Welcome to Westwood, Lokeni!

GO BRUINS!!
