UCLA Basketball: USC Game Thread

It's Senior Night at Pauley, and we say goodbye to our four-year warrior Norman Powell who has been tearing it up lately. He was just named PAC-12 POW for the third time. This is will be his last game in Pauley if the Bruins get an NCAA bid. Meanwhile, there is a cupcake game going on that the Bruins must win in order to ultimately get that bid for Norman.

The UCLA Bruins (18-12, 10-7) close the season tonight in Pauley against the justSC Trogans (11-18, 3-14). Tip-off is set for 6:05 PM PT. You can catch the game on ESPN2. Dave Pasch and Bill Walton ("it is Dave, right?") will call it. You can also listen on Tunein Radio or 570 AM. Follow along with live stats here.

Read the BN preview and the official guide at (from which you can click to their exhaustive stats and tidbits).

Vegas has UCLA as the 12 point favorite.

Our post-season tourney poll predicts UCLA will go to the NIT as opposed to the NCAA Tournament, 53%-47% with 753 votes cast. UCLA has been in a holding pattern on the wrong side of the bubble in this last stretch of the season. Losing to ASU along with Oregon capturing third place resulted in the Bruins losing control of their tournament destiny. Suddenly, there were many more nationwide moving parts, and those teams didn't cooperate either: BYU beat Gonzaga and Texas beat Baylor, for example.

At this point, the Bruins need to take care of business tonight against a hapless cupcake, and then use those eight days off to get ready to win two games in the P12T.

Enjoy the game thread with your fellow BNers and Bruins.
