Maybe the Original Trogan Was Really Just a Guitar Fan?

Ahh, Markeith Ambles.

I mentally thank this young man daily for one of the more inopportune misspellings ever and one of the more hilarious threads and entries in the BN lexicon ever.

It turns out, maybe Markeith was really just a fan of the legendary Jimi Hendrix.

Now, being a guitar wannabe and die hard metal fan myself, I'll never criticize Jimi for much of anything. Well, his vocal tone isn't my favorite, but that's like complaining that Eric Kendricks once missed a tackle in 7th grade. But being a legendary and revolutionary guitar virtuoso, and a leftie at that, I'll cut him some slack for misspelling a sports team while drawing pictures as a teenager. (tweets from sportswriter Joe Posnanski of materials at the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. Hello, Cleveland!)

So maybe Markeith was just honoring the late great Jimi Hendrix. Or not. If you are a virtuoso wide receiver committing to said school, getting the spelling right carries a bit more import. I'm sure he has Houston Cougars down by now, and we do wish him well.

But back to the artist and his work, Jimi also did renditions of the Oregon Ducks and Cal Bears, but the best by far was his rendition of the UCLA Bruins uniform featuring a light blue, Clarendon font, and actual shoulder stripes.

See this, adidas, you chumps? Well done, Mr Hendrix.

With that, I'll leave you with Jimi's greatest creation and one of the most beautiful songs ever.

GO BRUINS!
