Yesterday saw a lot of personnel changes for the UCLA Football team. Craig Lee is no longer on the team for academic reasons, Ishmael Adams has been reinstated and Fabian Moreau will sit the year after undergoing surgery on his foot yesterday. We also learned that UCLA has given Chris Clark a limited release from UCLA.
In other Bruin news:
Football
Yes, Paul Perkins has been around and doing great things for a long time (a long time in college football time that is). It seems ESPN has gotten wind of Perkins and is starting to see what a special back he is, noting he deserves national attention. Fox Sports asks the question: How underrated is Paul Perkins?, and SI.com says Perkins is the key against Arizona. Perkins was also on The Jim Rome show yesterday.
Well Perkins may seem like a new star to the national media, but the local beat reporters, like Joey Kaufman who writes about Perkins' consistent explosiveness, have known about Perkins for a long time. Perkins was also named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week.
ESPN's Ivan Maisel discusses the education of Josh Rosen, including this quote from OC Mazonne: "That was the first defense that showed him, multiple, multiple looks. I didn't even know what it was half the time."
In case you missed it running backs Soso Jamabo and Bolu Olorunfunmi, along with LB Coach Scott White were on the Bruin Insider Radio Show last night.
It seems Rich Rod's Arizona Wildcats have never beaten Mora's UCLA Bruins. Let's keep that streak going!
Gymnastics
The six time national champion UCLA gymnastics team released their schedule yesterday:

There also seemed to be some bell ringing going on in Pauley:

Baseball
It looks like John Savage has lined up some more great recruits, bringing in the sixth best class in the country according to College Baseball News.
Future Bruins
Defensive end and UCLA commit Oluwole Betiku received his Under Armour All-American Game jersey yesterday, as did UCLA targets Brandon Burton and Rashard Lawrence.

Blair Angulo, now with Rivals.com, takes at look at
According to Scout's Greg Powers, four-star wide receive Adewale Omotosho definitely wants to visit UCLA, as well as Maryland and Berkeley. What does UCLA have going for it? Location, coaches, and Josh Rosen. (Video interview)
Scout also has highlights of UCLA Basketball 2017 small forward commit LiAngelo Ball.
Bruins in the NFL
The official site has a list of Bruins in the NFL and how they fared in week 2. You can catch Rahim Moore's interception here and watch Alterraun Verner run an interception back here (around the 3 minute mark).
#ChampedUp
It looks like UCLA had a great event yesterday, with the students getting "Champed Up" for UCLA athletics during the opening week of school. I'm glad to see these kinds of events taking place, getting the student body more involved with athletics.
