The keys to this game for the Foster Farms Bowl seem simple enough, but they are critically important if the Bruins are going to come out on top.
1. Get Fired Up: Nebraska has had a rough year losing 7 games but none by more than 10 points. Because they have seven losses and would not normally be bowl-eligible, Nebraska has something to prove. If UCLA comes out flat, the Huskers could win this game.
2. Score early: If UCLA can jump out to a quick lead, it will prevent Nebraska from being able to run the ball much against the Bruin defense which has had a hard time stopping the run.
3. Play Selection: Will Noel Mazzone be calling plays for UCLA? If so, will he be in the press box or on the field? If he's in the press box, instead of being on the field, he may have a different perspective than usual and it could affect his play selection. If he isn't calling plays for UCLA, how will that affect the Bruin offense?
