This game was an embarrassment to the Four Letters.
If you watched, you know that this game was over 16 seconds into the game when Julian Jacobs hit a three-pointer to make the score 3-0 in favor of Southern Cal.
Just in case you weren't sure, the Trojans ran off the first 11 points before Isaac Hamilton finally got the Bruins on the board with 16:42 to go in the first half. That was actually the start of a 12-5 run which closed the gap to only four points, but that was as close as this team got.
The teams went into the locker room with the score Southern Cal 48, UCLA 29.
But the closest the Bruins would get in the second half was a 15-point deficit when Southern Cal led 70-55 following a layup by GG Goloman with 9:45 to go in the game.
Ultimately, Southern Cal ended up winning by 24 points 95-71. As DCBruins has already pointed out, this was the basketball equivalent of 50-0.
This loss makes Steve Alford the first UCLA coach in 74 years to go winless against Southern Cal in at least three tries. It's pathetic. It's terrible. It's inexcusable.
Speaking of inexcusable, the failure to fire Steve Alford after this debacle of a game and this entire season would be gross negligence on the part of Dan Guerrero.
Hell, if Pat Haden were our AD, he might fire Alford at the closest craps table. That's how bad this program has gotten.
Enough is enough.
Let him know how you feel. Email him. Call his office. And, while you're at it, let Gene Block know how you feel about Dan Guerrero.
It's time to turn up the heat. Any self-respecting UCLA fan needs to have his or her voice heard.
Go Bruins.
