What's Bruin: 4 Star QB Devon Modster Takes UCLA Official Visit This Weekend

The former Arizona commit could provide UCLA with depth behind Josh Rosen and be the future quarterback of the Bruins upon Rosen's departure to the NFL.

It's hump day and it is also BeatSC day for UCLA basketball. For fans of NFL football in L.A., it is a day of rejoicing as the Rams are returning to the City of Angels. What's Bruin today in the world of UCLA sports?

Football Recruiting

Bruin Report Online reports that former Arizona commit and four star quarterback in the Class of 2016, Devon Modster, will take an official visit to UCLA this weekend. The article is not currently behind a firewall. This could be a big get for the Bruins to provide depth behind Josh Rosen and provide for future quarterback needs when Rosen likely leaves for the NFL after the 2017 season.

Basketball

UCLA takes on just$C* at Pauley Pavillion tonight at 8 p.m. PT. Bruin Sports Report has a video preview of the game (currently not behind a firewall), containing interviews with Steve Alford, Bryce Alford, Isaac Hamilton, and Tony Parker.

Baseball

Although the season is still at little over seven weeks away, when the UCLA Bruins Baseball team hosts the North Carolina Tar Heels for a three game series, UCLA has announced an Alumni game on Saturday, January 30th at Jackie Robinson Stadium. There will actually be two games, one for the "old timers" and one for more recent players who played at UCLA in 1991 or later. The games are free to the public. Women's Gymnastics

UCLA's Hallie Mossett was named PAC 12 Specialist of the Week after scoring a 9.95 in the floor exercise last weekend against #3 Alabama, helping to propel the #6 Bruins to a tight victory. Congratuations Hallie!!!
