Washington State Cougars at UCLA Bruins Game Thread

The Washington State Cougars visit Pauley Pavilion this afternoon to face UCLA.

Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

After eight games in conference play, the Washington State Huskies have exactly one victory and that was against our UCLA Bruins in Pullman.

Meanwhile, after losing to Washington on Thursday night, the Bruins are looking to salvage this weekend by beating the Cougars.

After watching the game on Thursday, the Bruins need to play a focused forty minutes and it's Coach Steve Alford's responsibility to make sure that happens. To say his Bruins have been inconsistent so far this year would be an understatement.

Most of that inconsistency has occurred on defense and that was the case on Thursday night when UCLA played the second worst first half of basketball in the Alford Era. (Of course, the worst first half in the Alford Era was the Kentucky game last season.)

Remember that the next time someone tries to tell you that UCLA tends to make progress as the season progresses. In the meantime, let's just hope for some consistent play at home this afternoon.
