Louisville at Clemson Highlights Week 5 College Football Action

Week 5 features three games between top ten opponents. One of them happened last night and uhhhhh.. didn’t look good for the Bruins.

It is October! Can you believe it? That means we’re already a month into college football season. Les Miles has already been fired. Brian Kelly threw his entire team of amateurs under surely not the last of many buses. Then fired his defensive coordinator. Lamar Jackson made you forget about everyone else. And conference action is underway all over the country.

Before the Bruins late-night game against the Wildcats (Full disclosure: I’m from Tucson, so this is the family rivalry game), here are the big ones:

#8 Wisconsin at #4 Michigan, 12:30 PDT, ABC. After knocking off LSU and Michigan State, Bucky goes to the Big House to face the Wolverines. Justin Wilcox’s defensive scheme looks better under head coach Paul Chryst than it ever did under Sark, but can it handle the nation’s #4 scoring offense lead by Michigan QB Wilton Speight? Michigan is favored by 11.

#11 Tennessee at #25 Georgia, 12:30 PDT, CBS. I know what you’re thinking, Georgia’s still ranked after getting thrashed by Ole Miss? But anyway, they are and this is a game between ranked teams. Tennessee rallied from down 21 to come back and beat Florida last week, giving them the leg up in the SEC East. Nick Chubb is out. Georgia fired a guy who consistently won 9-10 games a year for the product they have on the field right now.

#3 Louisville at #5 Clemson, 5:00PDT, ABC. Have you guys heard about this Lamar Jackson guy? He’s only thrown for 13 touchdowns, run for 12. Ho hum. How many touchdowns has UCLA scored? Let’s not talk about that. Brent Venables is running a top five defense at Clemson, but I bet he didn’t get much sleep this week trying to figure out how to slow down Jackson. Clemson has a pretty good quarterback, too. You may remember him from last year, Deshaun Watson?

Here's today's full schedule.
