Fresh off their NCAA-record setting 53rd victory in a row, the UCLA Men’s Water Polo team heads up the coast for a game against the 7th-ranked UCSB Gauchos this afternoon at 3:30 pm.
In their last time out, the Gauchos defeated Pepperdine 10-8 for the second time in three games. It was only UCSB’s second win in their last five games. The Gauchos were led by four goals from Reed Cotterill. The win moved UCSB to 8-4 on the season.
UCSB’s losses this season have come from Southern Cal, Long Beach State and UC Berkeley twice. The first of those losses came on September 24th in the MPSF Invitational and the second one came as a non-tournament match in Berkeley. on October 1st.
UCLA hasn’t lost a water polo game in almost two years. Their last loss occurred on Novermber 22, 2014 when they lost to Long Beach State in the MPSF Tournament.
While UCSB is ranked in the top ten, it doesn’t change the fact that there are few teams that can even compete with the Bruins and today’s game should prove to be an easy one for UCLA.
