Thurs/Fri Night CFB: Oregon Visits Cal in a Pac-12 Matchup

Tonight's game between the Canes and the Hokies should be a good one. Friday's matchup between Oregon and Cal will be a #Pac12AfterDark affair.

Tonight, there are two good games on tap. First up is a game between the Miami Hurricanes against the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Both of these teams started the season with new head coaches.

Mark Richt made the move South to Coral Gables (not South Beach) after he was fired by the University of Georgia. Richt has certainly made an difference. The Canes are 4-2 to start the season and were in the Top 25 until they lost their second game in a row last weekend to North Carolina.

Meanwhile, Justin Fuentes took the Hokies' job after finding success with Memphis. They are also off to a 4-2 start for their new coach. Last week, they lost to Syracuse which is led by former UCLA assistant Dino Babers.

This one is worth watching by Bruin fans because Justin Fuentes is one of those up-and-coming coaches who merits consideration the next time UCLA's head coaching job opens.

The other good game tonight will feature BYU and #14 Boise State. Of course, Bruin fans are familiar with the BYU Cougars. They head to Boise to face the Broncos on the smurf turf at Albertsons Stadium.

Friday night's games all look to be snoozefests. Spend your time prepping to tailgate at the Rose Bowl Saturday rather than watching football Friday night. Unless you really want to see what happens when UC Berkeley hosts the Ducks in a #Pac12AfterDark matchup.
