Thanksgiving College Football: Orgeron Versus Mazzone Looks Familiar As LSU Visits Texas A&M

There’s only one college game being played today and it’s an SEC matchup between LSU and Texas A&M.

Today is about giving thanks. And, of course, watching football. But, Thanksgiving is traditionally the realm of the NFL, not college football.

But, that isn’t stopping the SEC from having two of their teams play tonight and it’s going to have some LA flavor to it.

The LSU Tigers are visiting the Texas A&M Aggies and it will pit former Bruin OC Noel Mazzone against former Southern Cal interim coach Ed Orgeron.

You will recall that, in 2013, UCLA defeated the Orgeron-coached Trojans by a score of 36-14 and most people will acknowledge that it was that loss which likely cost Orgeron the permanent job across town.

Three years later, the two coaches find themselves in a familiar situation, albeit in a different part of the country.

Orgeron is again serving as an interim coach. This time, it’s for LSU and Mazzone’s offense has been racking up points in its first year in College Station.

The question that will be answered tonight is: Can Orgeron prepare his team enough to stop Mazzone’s offense this time?

Here’s the info on tonight’s game:
