The first weekend of the Bruins Nation Bracket Challenge is in the books and the second starts later today.
So, let's take a moment to look at where things currently stand in the 2016 BN Bracket Challenge.
After the first two rounds, we have three longtime BN members in a three-way tie for third place. Tazizona, orlandobruin and myself all scored 44 points in the first two rounds. Unfortunately for Taz, he has Kansas to win it all and he has a total of 128 possible points. With several others taking Kansas and having more possible points, it doesn't look too good for him.
Meanwhile, orlandobruin has North Carolina winning it all. He also has 156 possible points which is best of the Tar Heel folks. So, if UNC can win it all, he may walk away with this year's title.
I am one of two people who have picked Virginia to win and, while I'm currently ahead of UCLA '94 who has 41 points and is in 12th place, I am only have 164 possible points to UCLA '94's 165 possible points.
In second place after two rounds is Zach and his Westwood Won bracket. Zach scored 45 points in the first two rounds. He has picked Kansas to win and has 141 possible points, but, as of right now, he may fall short of winning the challenge.
Jamie's ucla805 bracket is the one currently in first place with 46 points. Like Zach, Jamie also has Kansas winning the Tourney. With 142 possible points, Jamie will contend for the title if the Jayhawks win, but even 142 points may not top dai who took Kansas and can score 150 possible points. So, despite being in 17th place after two rounds, dai could still win it all.
That's your BN Bracket Challenge update.
Sweet 16 action resumes later today.
