The Details of Kory Alford's Contract [Updated]

Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

Yesterday, I received a copy of Kory Alford's Contract which you can see here.

It was provided by UCLA based on a very narrow Public Records Act request. One clarification has been sought. Is there a written memo pursuant to UCLA Policy 34 indicating whether Kory Alford will be entitled to receive incentive pay? (See p. 2 of the contract.) This is not of small moment. When Kory Barnett was hired in 2013, UCLA reports that his salary for 2013 was $27,178 and his "other pay" was $25,085.

A more detailed PRA request is now pending. It seeks documents surrounding the hiring of Kory Barnett and Kory Alford as video coordinators. Was the job opening advertised? What disclosures were made by Steve Alford as to his relationship with Barnett? (Barnett was a close Alford family friend. Was he also the son of Steve Alford's former agent? If so, was that disclosed?) Was Gene Block asked to approve Kory Alford's hire? Did he do so?

If you can think of other documents to request surrounding this whole situation, please let us know in the comments below. We can't simply seek "information" under the PRA, but documents that will contain that information.

UPDATE (3-28-16): I've also asked for the attachment to the contract which sets forth Kory Alford's duties. It will be interesting to see if it is produced and, if the attachment deals with it, to whom Kory Alford reports.

UPDATE #2 (3-30-16); We've received the exhibit to the contract. Here it is:

UCLA - Kory Alford Contract Addendum

We have redacted some personal information for privacy concerns that UCLA did not redact. Kory Alford does not report to his father. We have also been advised that there is no memorandum that was provided to Kory Alford regarding "incentive pay."
