The UCLA Women's Golf team had its best round yet yesterday at the NCAA Championships at the Eugene Country Club in Eugene, OR. The team shot a 3 under 285 in the third round. After three rounds, the Bruins are now at 2 under 862 and tied with Duke for second place just two strokes behind leader Southern Cal.
Today, the field is trimmed to the top fifteen teams as stroke play concludes with Round 4. After today, the top eight teams will move on to team play where teams will play matches against one another to determine the champion.
UCLA's top golfer on Sunday was junior Bronte Law. Law shot a 3 under 69, giving her a 4 under 212 for the first three rounds and putting her in a tie for seventh overall.
Senior Louise Ridderström, who was the Bruins' top golfer in rounds one and two, shot a 1 over 73 on Sunday. Ridderström is now in a tie for 12th place with an overall score of 1 under 215. Freshman Lilia Vu had a good Sunday and shot a 1 under 71. Vu is now at a par 216 and is tied for 15th.
Freshman Bethany Wu shot a par 72 yesterday and is tied for 41st with a 3 over 219. Junior Hadas Libman shot a non-team scoring 7 over 79 and is tied for 118th with a 17 over 233.
UCLA wraps up stroke play this afternoon beginning at 1:10 p.m. in the order of Libman, Wu, Vu, Ridderström and Law. You can follow along with live scoring of the tournament for the fourth round.
