Let's find out What's Bruin this morning in UCLA sports.
Softball
The UCLA Softball team used a five-run third inning to defeat Cal State Fullerton for the second time in two days.
Delaney Spauling and Mysha Sataraka hit back-to-back home runs in the third to put UCLA up 5-3. The Titans made the score 5-4 in the sixth on an RBI single by Alexis Gonzalez. Paige McDuffee came in to relieve Selina Ta'amilo for the Bruins and McDuffee got UCLA out of the jam by picking up two outs to end the inning.
With the win, the Bruins advance to the NCAA Super Regionals against Oregon in Eugene, starting Saturday.
Baseball
UCLA lost its final home game of the season to Arizona State yesterday by a score of 10-4. Starter Jake Bird (1-5) took the loss after giving up three runs in just one-third of an inning. The loss drops UCLA's record to 12-15 in the Pac-12 and 25-28 overall.
The Bruins conclude their season against Oregon State in Corvalis next weekend.
Men's Tennis
The Road to 114 has ended for the UCLA Men's Tennis team. The Bruins lost a close match to the Oklahoma Sooners 4-3 Sunday night in the NCAA quarterfinals. Oklahoma took the early lead by winning the doubles point. In singles action, Oklahoma scored first when Spencer Papa defeated Gage Brymer 6-4, 7-5. Karue Sell got UCLA on the scoreboard when he defeated Alex Ghilea 7-6, 6-3.
Florin Bragusi defeated Logan Staggs 6-4, 7-5 to put Oklahoma up 3-1.
UCLA evened the score when Martin Redlicki and Mackie McDonald won their matches. While the Bruins' Joseph Di Giulio won his first set against Andre Biro, Biro won the second and third sets to give the Sooners the match victory.
And, that's What's Bruin this Monday morning.
Go Bruins.
