A few weeks ago, Josh Lewin was named as the new "Voice of the Bruins" who will handle both football and basketball play-by-play.

Now, UCLA will also be filling the position of analyst for its basketball broadcasts as former Bruin Darrick Martin has been named the head coach of the Reno Bighorns of the NBA Developmental League.

Darrick spent the past season as the radio analyst for UCLA’s basketball broadcasts. Prior to last season, he spent three years as an assistant coach at St. John’s under Steve Lavin.

UCLA has not announced a replacement for Martin yet.

One possible replacement is Tracy Murray, whom Martin replaced after Murray took a job last season as the shooting coach for the Lakers. Murray is no longer listed as being on the Lakers’ coaching staff which makes sense after the Lakers fired Byron Scott in April.

Martin played 13 seasons in the NBA including two seasons with the Bighorns’ NBA affiliate, the Sacramento Kings.

Go Bruins!
