UCLA Women’s Volleyball (8) is taking on the UC Irvine Anteaters at the USD Invitational at the Jenny Craig Center in San Diego at 4:30 today. They are coming off comeback wins against the University of Pacific and Missouri State and a sweep of #15 Hawaii last weekend. They are off to their best start since the national championship season of 2011.

On Saturday, Junior Reily Buechler posted her second double-double in a row with 14 kills and 11 digs. Senior Taylor Formico added 16 digs and freshman Savvy Simo recorded 13 digs. Senior Jordan Anderson was also in double figures with 11. Senior Jennie Frager added eight kills and six blocks, while senior Claire Felix was error-free with six kills in 14 attempts, while Junior Ryann Chandler recorded 37 assists and four blocks. The Bruins won their first set against the Rainbow Wahine after dropping the first set against their previous two opponents. Set scores were 25-23, 25-22, 25-22, which drops UH to 3-3 on the season.

Their next opponent, UC Irvine, is 3-5 on the season, recently losing to invitational host USD at the opening match. UCI won the first set, but USD ended up besting the Anteaters in the next three.
