Three Pac-12 teams are left in the Sweet 16, and two of those will be featured in today’s games. In the opening game at 4:09 pm, third-seeded Oregon will take on seventh-seeded Michigan. Michigan has become somewhat of a tournament sensation after their skidding-off-a-runway scare and playing in the Big Ten Tournament in their practice gear. They’re definitely on a good enough run at this point to make it to the Final Four. Derrick Walton, Jr. has been on fire, but will have the likes of Tyler Dorsey and Dillon Brooks from Oregon to contend with. After nearly losing to Rhode Island in the Second Round, the Ducks are only a 1.5 point favorite over the Wolverines.
Two-seed Arizona will take on the only double-digit seed left in the tournament, eleven-seed Xavier. The Musketeers have given us something to root for (not just because we’d like the Wildcats to go home) after they manhandled Florida State, 91-66. Florida State was full of future NBA prospects and elite talent much like Arizona, but, clearly, the Seminoles underestimated Xavier and wound up losing the game.
You’ll have to wait until tomorrow to watch our Bruins in an epic rematch against Kentucky. To tide you over, here is a full listing of today’s games:
