And then there were four.
The 2017 NCAA Tournament Final Four starts today with a matchup between Gonzaga and South Carolina while the second game will feature North Carolina versus Oregon.
The first game pits the West Region winner Gonzaga Bulldogs who lost just one game all season long to BYU and East Region champion South Carolina. While the Gamecocks are an SEC school and Gonzaga plays in the West Coast Conference, it’s South Carolina who is this year’s Cinderella, having beaten the two, three and four seeds to earn a spot in the Final Four. Can they now knock off a number one seed to secure a place in the Championship Game Monday night? I think it’s midnight for Cinderella. Look for the Zags to win this one.
The second game features the Pac-12 Tournament runner-up Oregon Ducks against the North Carolina Tar Heels. Even though UNC beat Kentucky to advance to the Final Four, I’m still not a believer in this Tar Heel team and I think the Ducks will take this one and it might not be close.
What do you think?
This is our Final Four open thread.
Go Bruins.
