I love Friday night football. You can go home, kick off your shoes, and relax while watching some college football after a hard week at work (well, ideally...but if you live in my house, you’re fighting with your kids over watching football or Trolls).
Tonight, two top ten teams take the stage. The #2 Clemson Tigers travel to Syracuse for a 4:00 pm PT game, and the #8 Washington State Cougars take on the UC Berkeley Bears at 7:30 pm PT. Both games are on ESPN and WatchESPN.
I was actually surprised that Clemson only had a 58% chance of winning according to Fox Sports. They are undefeated going into the weekend and Syracuse sits at .500 with a 3-3 record. The Tigers have a banged up quarterback, but their defense is top notch, and their front five is like running into a brick wall. I’d say there’s no chance Syracuse wins, and we might see Clemson on the road to another championship season.
Washington State is walking into this weekend undefeated (and my current heroes...anyone who can beat Southern Cal has a special place in my heart), and the Bears seems to be struggling right now. If you look at their record so far, they had a hard fought win against North Carolina in week one, and a nice win against Ole Miss. But they lost to Weber State and Oregon by at least two scores, and got obliterated by Washington. They’re 3-3 overall and 0-3 in the conference. However, Washington State is coming off a road game and traveling again on a Friday night. Coug Center is calling this a possible trap game, so tonight’s Pac 12 After Dark game might actually be entertaining.
This is your College Football Friday Night Open Thread.
Go Bruins!
