SOUNDS LIKE... #BOOMISBACK

THAT Coach Kelly presser motivated my lame butt to recover my lost BN password, get off the sidelines, and say it.

FACT:

Rick Neuheisel deserves a TON of credit for where UCLA Football stands poised at the ready now. Just his refusal to burn BH17 redshirt to probably save his JOB, but RN left an unblemished diamond in BH17, along with oodles of talent, even if miscast. It's like RN selected tremendous chefs, but had the pastry chef working front of house. The defensive talent (Zumwalt, Barr, Hendricks, Jack, Owa, .. on and on.

CRN, for whatever reason flamed out as a head coach for UCLA, but he had collected and seasond wood in the form of great student athletes, that set a base for;

FACT-O DUO:

COACH MORA. I absolutely love coach Mora. I love what he did for UCLA Football, which was extraordinary, considering where Coach Mora had to rebuild an entire identity of a program and even young men's belief systems in themselves AS UCLA. Ber--Doo Fall Camp, ripped the "laid back" jacket off and got some sun on the pads, it worked. For a while.

Coach Mora wasn't perfect, in fact had some pretty rough spots. But, I always knew, Mora the MAN, cared. He cared about UCLA as a University, the teams, his players, the students. Mora cared. He was the only coach since Bob Toledo that had the program in kick @@@ Mode.

IMHO the same thing that likely makes Jim Mora an tremendous guy to have a friend, may be his weakness in coaching. but I want to thank Coach Mora for: LOCKING THE GATES?! BWAAAHAAAHAA- "Know who the F you're locking in next time" texts from players- P R O U D.. to be UCLA. Dietrich Riley's preaching of BOOM to that Oregon State RB.

I know it was past time, for Coach Mora to go, but JIM MORA will ALWAYS be a GREAT BRUIN in my book!

FACT d'Tre:

CHIP KELLY, I mean, he crushed that presser. I BELIEVE, he sees UCLA, as the greatrst opportunity in his LIFE. Kelly, is super smart, very detail oriented and the man has a vision.

If Chip Kelly can deliver, consistently deliver, by recruiting to high character, high integrity, high energy, student athletes AND, consistently and fervently taking all comers; anywhere, anytime, any conference; and win or lose, making that opposing teams training room and staff the most overworked employees ever assembled. Do that with dignity; with physical, mental and emotional power; do THAT, Mr Kelly, and you may get a statue. They may honor you with cries of "COACH!!" as you stroll campus; and they should, and you should, enjoy that.

Hearing "COACH!" on campus should both snap in your ears and make you check your haircut length in a passing window, because "COACH!" spoken here; at UCLA isn't a title.

It's a LEGACY.

I believe Coach & Chip Kelly, find THAT, incredibly motivating.

Chip Kelly, went to the mountain on his sabbatical. On that mountain he met a TALL monk STRAGELY dressed asBill Walton. Say, big fella, where can I find, a 1969 Ferrari 350 GTB/ Daytona Berlinetta Alloy...fancy me one of them nice eye-talian sporty jobs, like in "The Graduate".. THAT, will make me happy! Bellowing, The Big Red Skanskritian flung some WALTONESE ōm's, mantras and several double wheatgrass shooters each later, Chip Kelly was enlightened.

Bill learned Chip a thing.. There was only ONE, such vehicle, ever. Practically unattainable. Lost, unattended and away for 40 YEARS in a Japanese barn. Until someone, recognized it. Restored it. Treasured it. But ultimately, sold it. So what?Who Cares? Quippy Chip Quickly Quacked back. PRECISELY, very good, Bill basked, be like water! THAT is SUCCESS.

I took a great many liberties with my sources whom I can't identify who said someone told them this was the real recruitment meeting. Walton, Kelly; some beer pong. Troy provided Wings. So I hear. From sources.

My GT350 Daytona rant?

I BELIEVE, Chip Kelly the man, found in going to the NFL, huge money contracts, all that; WHO CARES? I think this is simple. I think Chip Kely found out (resolved, confirmed, Im not certain the correct term here) he cares. UCLA, is that one of a kind, boardering on mythical, "I can't believe 'THIS' is just laying here!!!" UCLA, everything about it, has Avalon-eque mystique. Chip Kelly uncovered for him, things weren't his thing. Legacy, is Chip Kelly's thing. He's a little Steve Jobs "Put a dent in the Universe" Über ego-- but it took Jobs becoming deathly ill, for him to allow himself, himself. Not the "THAT'S STEVE F'n JOBS MAN!" that ego hears fans screaming. It's, "I'm Steve;,Stay Hungry;,Stay Crazy".

Put a dent in the Universe? For Chip Kelly? It's not amassing mone. That may be a by-product or co-morbidity even of Western success measures, I think Kelly found that to be, FOOLS GOLD.

UCLA is that barn find 1969!Daytona 350GT. In regards to Kelly finding something, bigger than himself, that HE could buy into. Legacy. To come to UCLA, and he seemed to get the big beautiful picture very clearly, just pick up the Football Program, and RUN. Just RUN IT. BUILD IT properly, vigorously and with focused intention of absolute excellence, just do THAT.

"COACH!" .. Saddle up Chip, them be some prett'near 4XL boots to fit into. But if you have the will, you won't believe what the UCLA fan base WILL GLADLY give in support. It's BS that UCLA "is unrealistic". I say, no UCLA is very realistic; they know precisely when anyone is not giving 100%, only what the University, students, faculty, alumni, fans deserve and expect. I think, Mr. Kelly may have the feeling, in "finding" UCLA, he just got over on everything.
