If it were possible for this game to end in a tie, I tend to think that most members of Bruins Nation would choose to end it that way. That would prevent either team from claiming the conference title.
But, alas, someone must win.
That leaves Bruin fans doing what Bruin fans do: Root for whoever is playing Southern Cal.
Way back on September 9th, these two teams played each other at the L.A. Coliseum where Southern Cal won pretty easily 42-24. But that was with Keller Chryst at quarterback.
David Shaw finally found his starting quarterback. Ironically, it was in the UCLA game when K.J Costello really shone. With Costello at QB, it should make it a little easier for Bryce Love who was held in check for “only” 160 yards. The added dimension of Costello throwing should result in more yards for Love as Southern Cal looks for Stanford to throw the ball more.
Sure, Southern Cal has weapons of its own including Sam Darnold, but the UCLA game shows that the Trojans are vulnerable.
Prediction
Southern Cal is a 4-point favorite going into tonight’s game. But, that shouldn’t matter in what should amount to a home game for the Cardinal.
Look for the Cardinal to win this one by at least a touchdown.
