UCLA Football Recruiting: 4-Star Athlete Bryan Addison Is Officially a Bruin

Addison could end up playing either offense or defense for UCLA.

Serra Gardena’s Bryan Addison intercepts a pass from Pitt signee Nick Patti in the 2016 Honor Bowl.

Ten days ago, 4-star athlete Bryan Addison from Serra Gardena committed to the Bruins. Today, Addison made it official by signing his National Letter of Intent and submitting it to UCLA.

Addison will be a welcome addition to the Bruin secondary which is losing Jaleel Wadood to graduation and could lose Adarius Pickett to the NFL draft. Of course, it would be great if Pickett returns for his senior year. That would give Addison a year of learning from Pickett. Either way, the Bruin secondary is certainly better with Addison in it next season.

I got to see Addison play last season in the Honor Bowl when Serra played my alma mater St. Joseph Regional from New Jersey. While Serra’s team was young and ended up losing the game, Addison made one of the big plays of the game when he intercepted Pitt signee Nick Patti. He had a really nice return of about 35 yards on that pick as well. You can see that interception in his junior year highlights from Hudl.com. It comes at about the 2 minute mark.

Hopefully, Chip Kelly is able to turn this into a springboard for making Serra Gardena a Bruin pipeline in the future. After all, according to his bio, not only did Serra head coach Scott Altenberg earn his bachelor’s degree from UCLA, he also played football for the Bruins.

Welcome to Westwood, Bryan!

Go Bruins!!!
