The UCLA Gymnastics team has earned the number 5 seed for the upcoming NCAA Gymnastics Championships.
According to the NCAA, the top 18 schools are seeded based on their Regional Qualifying Scores (RQS). The RQS is an average of each team’s top 6 scores with at least three of scores being from away meets. UCLA’s RQS this year is 197.500.
As the 5th seed, the Bruins will be the top seed at the Champaign Regional which will be held at the State Farm Center on the University of Illinois campus on Saturday, Apr. 1 at 2pm PT.
At the Champaign Regional, they will compete against these five schools: No. 8 Oregon State, No. 17 Iowa, Illinois, Eastern Michigan, and Ohio State.
The NCAA website has a bracket with all 36 teams listed along with where they will compete.
The top two teams and the top two all-around competitors (who are not on an advancing team) from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the national championships at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis on April 14-15.
