If you’re anything like me, making it from the Super Bowl to August is only made better by Spring Football. Culminating on April 29 at Drake Stadium with the Spring Showcase, the UCLA Bruins will once again take the field, beginning on April 4.

Monday, April 10 – 4:00 p.m.

Wednesday, April 12 – 7:00 a.m.

Thursday, April 13 – 4:00 p.m.

Saturday, April 15 – 9:00 a.m.

Monday, April 17 – 4:00 p.m.

Wednesday, April 19 – 7:00 a.m.

Thursday, April 20 – 4:00 p.m.

Saturday, April 22 – 9:00 a.m.

Monday, April 24 – 4:00 p.m.

*Spring Showcase – Drake Stadium

(Practice schedule is subject to change)

Don’t forget, the Spring Showcase is exactly that, a showcasing of drills, plays, and schemes that the team has been working on for the month. Unlike other schools, UCLA does not play an actual 60 minute game. However, Drake is chock full of UCLA fans eager to see what progress the team has made, and especially what the new recruits can do.

Parking is available in Lot 7 under the IM field. In the past, the snack bar has been open, there have been a couple of food trucks, and there have also been giveaways and fan promotions. Additionally, there has been a 30-minute period after where the players and coaches stay on the field to sign autographs. They usually have sharpies on them, but bringing your own is probably a good idea. They’ll sign your memorabilia and even hold your baby if you ask nicely (totally did that). Don’t forget sunscreen! While some of Drake is shaded, the sun gets pretty intense if it’s a nice spring day. Again, this is what has been done in the past, so stay tuned for more information from the Athletic department.

In case you’re interested, on the same day as the Spring Showcase, the baseball team has a game at Jackie Robinson stadium against Cal Poly at 2:00. You can probably catch the second half and then bounce back to Westwood for dinner.

Go Bruins!
