With the 88th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders have selected Eddie Vanderdoes, Defensive Tackle, UCLA.

Vanderdoes had his best season at UCLA in 2014 when he recorded a total of 50 tackles and two sacks. He missed almost the entire 2015 season after blowing out his ACL in the opening game of the season.

He came back in 2016, but he only recorded 27 tackles this past season.

He relies on technique and his athleticism to get off blocks and get to the runner. Despite weighing in at more than 300 pounds, Vanderdoes can still run the 40-yard dash in less than five seconds. For a guy of his size, that’s quick.

Congratulations, Eddie!

Go Bruins!
